Privacy Policy
This document is a working draft prepared for the Chinazone (春秋) website at chinazone.de. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and must not be treated as final legal text.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR is the operator of Chinazone (春秋). Full company details, address and legal representative are listed in the Impressum.
2. Data collected via the contact form
When you request a seat, we process the data you enter: name, company, role (optional), email address, the event you are interested in, and your free-text description of what you are building in Europe. Technical connection data (IP address, time of request, browser user agent) may additionally be logged by our hosting provider.
3. Purpose of processing
We use this data solely to evaluate your application, to contact you about a seat at a Chinazone dinner or workshop, and to organise the event itself. Newsletter addresses are used only to send the 春秋 letter.
4. Legal basis (Art. 6 GDPR)
Processing of contact-form data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). Newsletter subscriptions are based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
5. Storage duration
Contact-form data is stored for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting participation, and is deleted thereafter unless statutory retention periods (e.g. commercial or tax law) apply. Newsletter data is stored until you unsubscribe. Server log data is deleted after a short technical retention period.
6. Recipients and processors
Data may be processed by service providers acting as processors under Art. 28 GDPR — in particular our website hosting, email and newsletter providers. We do not sell your data. Where a transfer to a third country occurs, it takes place on the basis of an adequacy decision or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your rights as a data subject
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77).
